Secure File Transfers (SFTP/FTPS)

Simple Setup. Seamless Sharing.

Updated this week

Need to send or receive files with Wiser?

You’re in the right place. Whether you’re sharing sales data or downloading results, this quick guide walks you through a secure file transfer setup—no technical background required.

  1. Download a File Transfer Tool

We recommend FileZilla, a free and trusted application.

  • Choose the version for your computer (Mac or Windows).

  • Download the Client version (not the Server)

TIP: You don't need the Pro version, just use the free option that supports SFTP/FTPS

2. Log In Using Your Credentials

Once you open FileZilla, you'll enter the login details provided by Wiser. Don’t worry if the fields look technical. You are only pasting values like logging into any secure site.

  • Host: Provided by your Wiser team.

  • Username and Password: Sent to you securely.

  • Port: Typically 22 for SFTP or 21 for FTPS

  • Click Quickconnect

Keep your login credentials in a secure place for future use. You’ll need them each time you need to reconnect.

3. Drag and Drop Your Files

Once connected, you'll see two panels:

  • The left side shows files on your computer

  • The right side shows Wiser’s secure folders

  • Open the correct folder on each side

  • Drag files from left (your computer) to right (Wiser’s upload folder)

Look for a folder called uploads. This is where your files should go.

4. You’re All Set!

Once your first file is uploaded, Wiser will take it from there. No need to notify us unless there’s a problem.

  • FileZilla may ask you to reconnect after inactivity, just re-enter your info and reconnect.

If anything feels unclear, your Customer Success Manager is happy to walk you through the steps. From download to upload, we’re here to make the process as easy as possible.
