Understanding the Promotions section

Updated today

The Promotions section, also referred to as Promo MAP, is where you manage temporary promotional pricing as approved MAP exceptions. It is designed to help you apply promotional pricing accurately, prevent conflicts, and maintain MAP compliance before, during, and after promotions.

This section allows you to upload promotional pricing in bulk, validate it before it runs, and clearly track each promotion through its lifecycle.

The Promotions table displays all promotions created in your MAP program.

Each row represents a single promotion and includes:

  • Promotion name

  • Status (Scheduled, Running, or Ended)

  • Number of products included

  • Start date

  • End date

This view gives you a complete overview of upcoming, active, and completed promotions, helping you quickly understand what pricing exceptions are in effect and when they apply.

Using Promotions to manage MAP exceptions

The Promotions section helps you move from setup to control.

Use this section to:

  • Manage temporary MAP exceptions with confidence

  • Prevent overlapping promotions and pricing conflicts

  • Maintain visibility during high volume sales periods

  • Support internal reviews and reporting on promotional activity

Promo MAP ensures promotional pricing is applied deliberately and consistently, without weakening your broader MAP enforcement strategy.

Understanding promotion status and lifecycle

Each promotion follows a defined lifecycle, shown directly in the Promotions table.

  • Scheduled: The promotion is configured and validated but has not started yet.

  • Running: The promotion is active, and promotional MAP pricing is applied as a temporary exception.

  • Ended: The promotion has concluded, and standard MAP monitoring resumes automatically.

This lifecycle ensures promotional pricing is time bound and controlled, reducing the risk of unintended or extended MAP exceptions.
